A big thanks to everyone who has left comments on my photos, including:

Hi, I am Brian Smithson, living and working in the UK — Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, to be precise. Milton Keynes has a bad rap in terms of roundabouts and concrete cows — but I hope that you will find, through some of my photographs, it has some wonderful green spaces along with the modern architecture.

During the day, I am a Business Director of a web and print publishing company, also doing the electronic and print output side of the business. My business partner, Miles Wolstenholme, is also a photographer, living in the county of Devon, on the edges of Dartmoor. We both like to escape the trials of work and business by going on photographic trips - he around the West Country and I trek (or, more likely, drive) around the country and, as much as possible, into France.

I have quite a roving eye when it comes to subject matter — hence my sub-title on this blog of "Photographic Meanderings". I hope you find that my work is to your liking. I am intending to enjoy taking the photographs, no matter what  :-)

Thanks for stopping by.

Brian

Photo Gear

I have nearly always used Canon equipment, although most of the compact cameras I have ever owned have been Nikon. My current equipment consists of:

Canon 40D and Digital Rebel
Tamron 10-24mm USM Lens
Canon 28-135mm IS USM Lens
Canon 90-300mm Zoom Lens
Hoya UV and Polarising Filters
Hahnel Shutter Release
Cokin Z ND Grad Filters
Slik Tripod and Head

I always shoot in RAW and post-process my photographs with Adobe Lightroom 2 and Adobe Photoshop CS4, with some experimentation in PT Lens and Photomatix (for HDR).
